COLIN'S NEW HOME - BANSTEAD MANOR
I wish to inform you Colin is settling in well in his new home 'Banstead Manor'.
For many of our close friends who may be surprised why we have moved Colin, in brief, Colin has recently be putting on a lot of weight whilst enjoying his big breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and between meal times returning to his room to watch TV and playing his CD's.
He refused to participate in any fitness/group activities and even refused to walk which in the past he loved.
We discussed these issues with Lavender Oaks Management only to be told that a Resident at the home cannot be forced to do anything against his/her wishes. As such we had to look out for an alternative and fortunately we were introduced to 'Banstead Manor Hallmark' care home who have in place a good 'Activities Team' with regular group fitness classes. (Again, if Colin refuses to participate, the good news is that our home in Worcester Park is much closer to us and we plan to visit Colin more frequently and take him for walks outside his organised programme).
